All new clients begin with a private initial assessment lesson. These can be arranged at mutually convenient times. All other teaching is on a Friday. We have both group and 1-2-1 classes.
We specialise in teaching traditional gundog breeds.
N.B. Guarding and herding breeds require specialist training methods which we are not able to accommodate.
We offer a graduated levels training system. Puppies from six months are able to join us in class after their initial assessment which can be arranged after second vaccination onwards.
We use an outdoor venue only. As we actively use our own dogs during the shooting season, we have very limited training during this time. Our main season runs from Spring to Autumn.
No, we are strictly pay as you go although we run a booking system to ensure numbers remain manageable.
We do ask that 1-2-1 private lessons (including the new client assessments) are pre-paid at the time of booking.
We ask that clients let us know of non-availability as soon as possible. Pre paid clients should give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation otherwise the full lesson fee will be charged.
We find that keeping class sizes to a maximum of 8 allows best learning for both the dog and handler.
Yes. Progress should be rapid for those handler/dog teams with existing secure skill sets. By checking the foundations thoroughly before moving up a skill level, we find new dogs cope better.
